27-year-old Uma Patel allegedly bit her husband, 30-year-old Jitendra Patel's privates over a dispute about food.

The couple from Satna, India, who got married in 2010 after a courtship of two years, said the scuffle was the culmination of a series of 'stressful events'.

The incident reportedly took place at district's Pagra village on May 4, but came to light on Monday after Jitendra reached district hospital complaining about swelling and pus formation in his privates.

When Jitendra and Uma started to argue, their children tried to separate them but Uma apparently managed to bite Jitendra.

Jitendra had asked Uma to get him breakfast but when she ignored him, Jitendra went inside the kitchen and started cooking, said police.

Uma wanted him to stay away from kitchen and reportedly began to attack her husband with whatever she could lay her hands on.

During the scuffle Jitendra's towel fell off down exposing him.

She allegedly grabbed his privates and bit some of it off.

He somehow managed to escape and reported the matter to police.

Jitendra, however, refused to undergo a medical examination fearing public humiliation.

His wife was booked and released on bail. After a counselling session by police, they agreed to stay together.

But when he got infected, he discussed the matter with one of his close friend who advised him some traditional cure with local herbs.

Things worsened after he swelled with pus formation.

One of the elderly villagers whom he contacted told him "women have venomous teeth".

"Better you consult a doctor before venom spreads across your body," police said quoting Jitendra's complaint. It was after this that he went to see doctor.

He was hospitalised immediately after the examination and his surgery was scheduled on Tuesday.

Police officers are likely to add more charges including 'attempt to murder' against Jitendra's wife.

23-year-old Zama Mofokeng, from Tembisa in Ekurhuleni dreams of going to prison and he claims he is willing to commit a crime to get there.

Now all he wants to do is to be in jail for at least 10 years.

Zama wants to become a neurologist and reportedly said that the only place where his dreams can come true is in prison.

"You come out ready to go to work!"

He said the department of correctional services is doing a great job by giving inmates the chance to study and learn skills.

"I will make sure I commit a crime that sees me serving many years in prison.

"When I get arrested I won't bother applying for bail. My wishes are simple. I just want 10 years behind bars!

"I understand why on 16 June, 1976 many people died. Education is powerful. It gives people the power to do great things in life.

"I've been thinking of this for three years. I won't regret my decision and I am going forward with it," Zama said.

BULAWAYO senior magistrate Sibongile Msipa yesterday granted Witness Dube, the driver of MDC-T vice-president Thokozani Khupe, $200 bail saying he committed the offence under instructions from the party’s leadership.

Dube had been arrested for allegedly hijacking a vehicle used by ousted MDC-T Matabeleland North chairperson Sengezo Tshabangu and assaulting his driver Lameck Ndlovu and two other passengers.

Msipa’s ruling follows an appeal by Dube’s lawyer Tanaka Muganyi to the court not to allow itself to be used to further perpetuate party squabbles.

In her ruling, Msipa said the evidence presented before the court made it clear that Dube was acting on instructions as per the letter dated April 29 2014 written by MDC-T acting secretary-general Tapiwa Mashakada instructing provincial secretaries to safeguard the party’s properties in all provinces.

“The only problem is that the accused went on an extreme use of force to take the party property from the complainant,” ruled Msipa.

“The bail application by the accused is well founded and there is no good reason to oppose bail by the State. The accused person went on his own volition to the police station with his defence counsel and he did not exhibit any signs of being a flight risk.”

Msipa also said there were no signs for Dube to interfere with witnesses or evidence. She said the State’s reasons opposing bail do not have enough ground. Msipa said it was clear that that there were squabbles over the MDC-T property and leadership which should not be brought to court.

“These factions must sort out their problems alone without involving the courts in their political issues. Having stated that there are no good reasons to deny accused bail, it is hereby ordered that accused is indeed a good candidate for bail and is granted bail of $200.”

She said Dube must reside at his Gwabalanda home, report to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Law and Order section in Bulawayo once every fortnight and should not interfere with witnesses until the case is finalised.

Dube has not been asked to plead to assault and robbery charges and was remanded to June 17.

Dube was arrested for being part of a group of MDC-T youths who hijacked and assaulted Ndlovu and his two passengers.

Allegations are that on May 25 at around 1pm, Ndlovu of Nketa 8 was driving the vehicle in question at the corner of 1st Avenue and Joshua Nkomo Street in Bulawayo in the company of Zaccaria Nkomo and Sage Mguni.

Ndlovu parked the car while waiting for cash from someone.

It is the State’s case that two vehicles blocked Ndlovu’s vehicle and Dube and six of his accomplices, who are still at large, disembarked and allegedly pulled Ndlovu out of the vehicle before assaulting him with clinched fists and booted feet.

Dube then allegedly searched Ndlovu and took a cellphone, $300 and the car keys before driving off.

His fugitive accomplices allegedly drove off in another vehicle. Ndlovu made a report to the police and went to the United Bulawayo Hospitals for treatment. Dube was later arrested after handing himself in.

The value of the alleged stolen property was pegged at $30 350 and nothing was recovered.

A HOUSEMAID has been arraigned in the Zvishavane Magistrates' Court for abusing her employer's eight-year-old son.

The 19-year-old housemaid from Kukunda Kushinga De Beer village under headman Stanford Shumba appeared before Zvishavane magistrate Story Rushambwa facing charges of aggravated indecent assault.

However, the maid, who is employed by the victim's mother at Msipane Primary School, pleaded not guilty to the charges when she appeared in court on Monday.

It is the State's case that the woman took advantage of the absence of the boy's mother at night and would undress and order him to lie on top of her.

The State outline revealed that the maid would then force the boy on her and initiate sexual movements.

It is alleged that the maid abused the boy for 14 consecutive days.

The matter only came to light when the boy informed his mother and she made a report to the police, leading to the maid's arrest.

A medical examination was conducted on the boy and results confirmed the State's case.

Zvishavane public prosecutor Sheila Mupindu opposed bail saying the maid would interfere with witnesses since the victim's father was a teacher close to her homestead.

Rushambwa remanded the woman in custody to June 16.

A 22-year-old Chiredzi man has been jailed for nine years for acting in cahoots with his friends to steal eleven cattle from his father.

Appearing before Chiredzi magistrate Honest Musiyiwa, Lot Piki admitted to stocktheft. Prosecutor Muchini Ngwarai told the court that on May 19, Piki of section 18 Chipimbi, Chiredzi, connived with Lawrence Fungai, 20, also from the same district and Dread Nyamunda to steal 11 beasts from his father, Msindo Piki.

Nyamunda is on the run.

The three are alleged to have stolen the cattle and drove them to Pascal Matopera's village for "safekeeping" while they looked for buyers.

Matopera later reported the stocktheft to police leading to Piki and Fungai's arrest.

All the eleven cattle were recovered.

Piki pleaded guilty to the charge but blamed his friends who he accused of pressurising him to commit the crime.

"I acted out of influence from friends. I am really sorry and I want to apologise to my father and the court," said Piki.

In his judgment, magistrate Musiyiwa said cases of stocktheft were on the rise and as such deterrent sentences were called for.

"The court in passing the sentence has considered the fact that accused number one (Loti) is a first offender but however cases of stocktheft are on the rise hence the need for deterrent sentences. What however is in the accused's favour is that all the stolen cattle were recovered," said magistrate Musiyiwa.

He then sentenced Piki to nine years in jail. Fungai is yet to be sentenced as the two were charged separately.

HE IS angry because the police did not help him after he was attacked by four men.
Ayanda Ndlovu (21), from Bryanston Heights in Durban told Daily Sun he was called ugly while walking to a shop on Friday.
Ayanda, originally from Botha’s Hill in KZN, said men sitting on the side of the road laughed at him and said “Isitabane esimbi kanje,” meaning he’s an ugly gay man.

They then started stoning him.
“I also grabbed stones and threw some back. Then they saw cops driving towards us and ran away.”

Ayanda told the People’s Paper he did not understand the attitude displayed by these men because at his birthplace he was accepted as a gay man.

“In Durban they say I am too ugly to be a woman. I think they must learn more about gays,” he said.

Later on Friday he walked to a garage to buy water, and the four men were waiting for him.

They had a stick and sjamboks but he managed to run away.

“I called the cops. They came and asked me to show them the suspects. When we arrived at their place, they had locked the gate.

“The cops did not bother trying to get inside. They told me I must let it go. I believe they did not take me seriously because I am gay,” said Ayanda.

KZN police spokesman Captain Thulani Zwane said Ayanda must lay a complaint so action can be taken against the cops.

The European Council on Tourism and Trade will today present two awards to President Mugabe in recognition of Zimbabwe’s appeal as a major tourism destination.
The ceremony at a Harare hotel this morning provides further independent affirmation of Zimbabwe as a tourism destination of choice. Zimbabwe was determined to be the 2013 World’s Most Preferred Cultural Destination after successfully co-hosting the United Nations World Tourism Organisation General Assembly with Zambia last year.

The ECCT is a private Bucharest, Romania-based organisation with interest in tourism and gives awards to countries annually.
According to its website, it draws together tourism-related organisations from 27 European countries.

The ECCT is not affiliated to the EU, which is a political and economic bloc of mostly Western European countries that have imposed illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe in response to Harare’s revolutionary land reform programme.

ECCT president Professor Anton Caragea, after meeting Vice President Joice Mujuru on Monday, said: “We are a non-governmental organisation and we are nowhere related to Government. We have come here only to praise the culture of Zimbabwe, the tourism legacy, to promote the tourism in Zimbabwe and this is absolutely mandatory.

“We are not interested in politics except politics of friendship, politics of co-operation and collaboration. We have not heard (of) any tourism embargoes. This is a free and perfect tourist destination. Zimbabwe is absolutely a jewel and gem of Africa.”

Established in 2005, the ECCT has given its top tourism award to Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Laos, Trinidad and Tobago, and now Zimbabwe.

The ECCT has praised Zimbabwe’s peaceful environment, natural treasures and cultural legacy, which make it “the perfect African destination”.
When it came to its decision, the ECCT said it would want to present the World’s Best Tourist Destination Award directly to President Mugabe, whom it described as “the most outstanding personality” in Africa.

The non-profit ECCT is largely led by Romanians, who include Prof Caragea who the organisation says on its website is an international relations expert.
Other leading figures in the body are industrialist Mr Nicolae Nicolae, Dr Mircea Constantinescu and Senator Ionel Agrigoroaiei.

Commentators, including the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Ministry, have noted that the independent recognition from the ECCT is reflective of what Zimbabwe has to offer as a tourist destination that is nothing like the war zone some sections of media have tried to portray it as.

Tourism Minister Walter Mzembi, his Sport, Arts and Culture counterpart Andrew Langa, and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority boss Mr Karikoga Kaseke are among VIPs expected to join President Mugabe at today’s award presentation.

Meanwhile, Prof Caragea yesterday led his delegation to the Great Zimbabwe Monuments,a Unesco World Heritage Site.
“There is no doubt that Zimbabwe is one of the world’s best tourism destinations, a country with wonderful and warm people who have very rich cultural riches. Zimbabwe is a very safe and wonderful destination where any visitor will feel at home.

‘’It is very clear that there is now a changing turn on the number of tourist arrivals from Europe and the future looks even bright with the trend pointing to many more international visitors coming to Zimbabwe.’’

Masvingo Provincial Affairs Minister Kudakwashe Bhasikiti, who accompanied the ECTT delegation to the monuments, said the visit was an endorsement of Zimbabwe as a safe tourism destination.
The delegation also visited Lake Mutirikwi, Zimbabwe’s largest inland dam which was built in the 1960s to irrigate lowveld sugar cane.

Moses Chunga

THE Chiredzi FC executive have threatened to report their coach Moses Chunga to police after the former Warriors star allegedly disappeared with $4,000 in gate takings. The revenue was collected from the club’s recent match against Dynamos at Chishamiso Stadium. Chunga is alleged to have taken the money in the presence of Chiredzi vice-chairman Joel Sithole who failed to stop the gaffer from taking the earnings home.
Treasurer Norman Sharara had hoped to raise another $3,000 to pay the 35 players $200 each.

Bambo allegedly tasked Chiredzi FC captain Fidelis Mangezi and Brighton Pamhirwa to pay $50 to each of the 35 players. The money paid out totalled $1,750.
The Chiredzi FC coach is said to have kept the greater chunk of the cake to his own use.

Contacted for comment Chunga demanded to know the source of the story.
“Who said that? I won’t talk to you if you don’t reveal to me who your source is. If I was dealing with (a senior sports journalist he named), he would have disclosed the source so tell me so that I can talk to you,” said Chunga before hanging up.

Last weekend Chiredzi FC hosted a team launch at which the executive cleared the air on the ownership of the team.
Chiredzi FC chairman Charles Muchatukwa said they had to rise to the occasion to defend the franchise from leaving the Lowveld after some people had shown interest. He also said the club needs $300,000 to fund its Premier League season until its end.

“We had to rise and defend the Hippo Valley franchise from leaving the Lowveld after some people had shown interest. We, however, take this opportunity to clarify that no one owns Chiredzi FC. This is a community team for Chiredzi,” said Muchatukwa.

When Tongaat Hullet human resources director Fred Nyangwe handed over the Hippo Valley franchise to Chiredzi, Muchatukwa and team secretary Reason Dube stood as signatories of the community.

Muchatukwa confirmed in an interview yesterday that Chunga collected gate takings from the DeMbare match. He said the executive was launching an investigation.

“I can confirm that Chunga collected the money Chiredzi FC realised during the Dynamos match,” he said.
“The executive has been undertaking investigations and we now have a position that the matter will be handed to the police. No one has to tamper with funds of a team when it’s stated in the constitution that all funds realised must be banked and accounted for.”

Sources say the fallout between Chunga and the executive deepened when the outspoken coach dumped their traditional transport, a 24-seater mini bus sourced by the executive, for a bigger Zupco bus which was more expensive for the struggling side.

Also, Chunga was accused of absenteeism from most of the team’s training sessions leaving his assistants in charge.
A woman yesterday told a Harare magistrate that she hid in the bush every night whenever her abusive husband came home drunk.

Evidence Chinouya said she fled from her home and slept in the bush as her drunk husband Tonderai Manatsa would physically abuse her over petty issues.

This was revealed at the Harare civil court where Chinouya was seeking a protection order against Manatsa.

"I had to run away from our matrimonial home because he was in the inclination of physically and verbally abusing me over nothing. At times he threatens to kill me," she said.

"This man abused me economically because whenever we cultivated tobacco together he diverted all the profits to his own use denying me of my share."

Magistrate Masinire granted Chinouya the protection order which barred Manatsa from verbally or physically abusing her.

INGUTSHENI Central Hospital is forking out $6,000 per month to hire a Mercedes Benz vehicle for its chief executive officer Dr Leonard Mabhande in addition to 420 litres monthly fuel allowance. At least five directors at the Bulawayo based institution including the director of finance and operations are each being allocated 400 litres of fuel a month.

This emerged during a tour of the institution by a seven-member Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Health and Child Care led by Bulawayo MP, Dr Ruth Labode (MDC-T).

The delegation is in the city to assess the state of affairs at public health institutions following concerns over poor health service delivery.
Dr Mabhande defended his package in an interview saying that it came with his job.

He told Chronicle: “It’s a CEO’s package which was approved by head office. I didn’t create this.”
Dr Labode expressed shock at the CEO’s package, which she said was uncalled considering that the hospital boss had accommodation at the institution.
“This is utter rubbish. How will the country survive when we have individuals who are just bent on filling their pockets at every opportunity? We are going to look into this. It has to stop,” she said.

The outspoken Dr Labode queried why the CMED, being a parastatal, would be allowed to milk other governments departments.
“They are hiring this vehicle from CMED for about $6,000 per month. At the end of the year about $72, 000 would have been spent on hiring the vehicle,” she said.

Dr Labode said she did not understand the logic of hiring the vehicle instead of buying one even from the CMED.
Recently Mpilo Central Hospital was reportedly spending about $7 000 a month on hiring a Mercedes Benz for its CEO, Dr Lawrence Mantiziba. The package is reported to be the same for all CEOs of major government hospitals.

Zanu-PF legislator for Gokwe-Mapfungautsi constituency Miriam Makweya, who is part of the committee, said the government was concerned with the level of corruption at State-run institutions.

“That’s why we are here. We want to expose this kind of corruption. We hear that a lot is happening at the hospital but the people here are scared to talk,” she said adding, “But we will find out. We only got to know about the CEO and directors’ fuel allowances outside the meeting. They were all scared to talk.”
During the tour the committee was also shocked to find a room filled with expired drugs.

Some of the expired drugs included Catheters, Antalgic gait, Albendazole for children, Nifedipine capsules among other drugs.
It also emerged that Kumalo ward patients have resorted to using the bucket system to relieve themselves as the toilet system is not operational.

The committee was baffled by the mental institution’s decision to order Albendazole for children when there are no children at the institution.
“This is a mental institution why then would you order Albendazole. It’s for pediatrics ward,” said Dr Labode.

In defence of the institution, a pharmacist George Mudiwa said the drugs were donated to the hospital by the European Union.
In his report on the institution, Dr Mabhande said they were operating at 52 percent of lifesaving drugs- a situation he said was dangerous for patients.

“Of antibiotics which are essential, we are on 34 percent and 20 percent on necessary drugs like drugs for malaria and headaches because we don’t refer our patients to other hospitals,” he said.

The hospital was allocated $2,2 million in this year’s budget of which $1,2 million went towards day to day operations.
The institution also owes suppliers a total of $1 million and only made $20, 903 from hospital fees for the whole of last year.

Today the committee is set to tour other medical institutions in the city.

A Nigerian/Canadian couple Hakeem and Abiola Nosiru have won a lottery of $50million. Yes $50m.

They won the January 17th Lotto Max draw and were one day away from claiming the money when they lost the signed ticket in church. A church member found it and returned it to them on April 1. Hakeem and his wife claimed their money yesterday June 2nd at the OLG prize center in Canada.

Legislators are borrowing money from friends and relatives to travel to Harare on Parliamentary business as they have gone for months without getting their allowances. The 350-member Parliament is facing teething financial problems and many hotels are turning away MPs due to ballooning debts. MPs have not been getting sitting allowances, fuel coupons and vehicles.

“Some of them come from as far as Chiredzi, Hwange and Nyanga to attend sittings using their own money,” Zanu-PF Chief Whip Cde Joram Gumbo told The Herald yesterday.

“The most affected are rural MPs who have to be mobile in their constituencies.
“Some Zanu-PF MPs might be better because they got vehicles from the party, but there are others from Zanu-PF who came through proportional representation with no vehicles, and those from the two MDCs.”

MDC-T Chief Whip Mr Innocent Gonese also bemoaned the financial dire straits MPs found themselves in.
“MPs have to service their own vehicles, while some have to travel thousands of kilometres to come to Parliament. Some of the MPs are forced to borrow to come to Parliament.”

Last week, Parliament adjournedfor a month, with legislators going back to their constituencies empty handed.
They are owed about 15 weeks of fuel and sitting allowances from the last Parliament are yet to be paid.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Cde Marble Chinomona had to restrain Buhera South MP Cde Joseph Chinotimba (Zanu-PF) last Thursday as he fumed about Parliament’s failure to pay them.

This was after Cde Chinomona announced that Parliament was taking the month long break.
MPs are owed about US$4 million in sitting allowances from the last Parliament, and US$1,4 million is oustanding for the current Parliament.
Allowances are pegged at US$75 per sitting.

Parliament received US$14 million from Treasury in 2013, which rose to US$20 million this year.
The money is for employment costs, travel, maintainance, capital expenditure, acquistion of fixed assets, goods and services and programmes.

Commentators have said part of the problem lies in having a “bloated” Parliament: there are 350 National Assembly and Senate representatives for a country of 13 million people.

Cde Chinotimba concurred.
“We have MPs with own resources, but we have other MPs like Chinotimba with no resources, but whose work in their constituencies is recognised pasi nekudenga,” he said. “Yes, I agree that the number of MPs is too big and does not help our country.”

South Africa, with a population of 52 million, has 400 legislators, Angola’s 18 million citizens are represented by 220 MPs,while the 24 million people of Mozambique have 250 representaives. Zambia has 160 MPs for its 13 million strong population.

The world’s second-largest country, India, has 1,2 billion people and just 790 legislators.
Clerk of Parliament Mr Austin Zvoma said while Parliament was operating on limited resources, its adjournment had nothing to do with constrained resources.

“We have a business calendar that we are adhering to. Resources are not enough, but that has not stopped Parliament from sitting. With or without resources, Parliament, the world over, will meet or adjourn.”

Southern African Parliamentary Support Trust executive director Mr John Makamure said Treasury should adequately fund Parliament.
“The problem of a bloated Parliament is not new; the issue dates back to the last Parliament. But whether it’s big or not, Treasury has an obligation to adequately fund Parliament.”

Out of the country’s 350 legislators, 210 are elected into the National Assembly – which also has 60 females from the women’s quota – while the Senate has 80 seats.
Zimbabwe’s Eighth Parliament also faces severe space constraints for when all 350 legislators show up for sittings.

Further, Treasury is failing to provide resources for refurbishment of Quality International, which Parliament bought with a view to housing MPs when they come to Harare on official business.

Zimbabwe’s Parliament has grown over the years from 100 in 1980, 120 in 1990, 150 in 2005, 303 in 2008, and 350 in 2013.

An alert Assistant Inspector in Gweru intercepted three police officers manning a roadblock after spotting them receiving bribes from commuter omnibus crews and immediately arrested them. The Asst Insp, Brighton Mutsindikwa, caught the three cops on Tuesday last week and found them with $95 which they could not account for.

Constables Leonard Matende, Takesure Moyo of Nehanda Police Station and Alfred Tswatswa of Mtapa Police Station were arrested at a roadblock along the City-Mkoba (via Mambo route) near Mtapa Cemetery.

The three officers were detained in police holding cells at Mtapa Police Station for contravening paragraph 34 of the schedule to the Police Act Chapter 11:10 as read with section 2 (iii) Part LXXI of the Criminal Penalties Amendment number 22/01.

They were supposed to appear in court yesterday but court officials returned the matter to the police because one of the accused, Cst Matende, was initially not included as one of the accused.

According to the charge sheet leaked to Chronicle, the three constables were manning a roadblock along City-Mkoba road near Mtapa Cemetery at around 10AM. They were in the company of three other police officers as they stopped commuter omnibuses plying the City-Mkoba via Mambo route.

Kombi conductors would disembark from their vehicles and hand over an undisclosed amount of money to Cst Moyo before leaving.
Asst Insp Mutsindikwa, who was in the company of one Misheck Mutindi, suspected that something sinister was going on and proceeded to the roadblock where they confronted Cst Moyo.

Asst Insp Mutsindikwa discovered that Cst Moyo had only receipted cash amounting to $30 in the Z69J book (ticket book) but had an extra $95 whose source he failed to explain.

According to police regulations, officers should declare all their valuables including cash before they are deployed to road duties.
It is alleged that while Asst Insp Mutsindikwa was searching Cst Moyo, Cst Tswatswa and a Cst Marahwi, who were also manning the roadblock, disappeared from the scene but later returned claiming that the $95 that Cst Moyo had had been receipted in another book.

Asst Insp Mutsindikwa informed his superiors who then took the suspects to Mtapa Police Station where Cst Tswatswa confessed to hiding some of the money in the ladies toilet. The three were then detained pending disciplinary hearing.

“The three went for disciplinary hearing on Wednesday and were supposed to be taken to court on Tuesday charged with criminal abuse of office,” said a source.

Police are understood to have zeroed in their search for the Johanne Masowe eChishanu Budiriro 2-based sect leader, Madzibaba Ishmael Mufani, on his colleagues' shrines in Harare although they also suspect he was moving between his relatives' houses.

Sources close to the investigations yesterday said they did not yet have an exact location, but were concentrating efforts on the above-mentioned places.

Madzibaba Ishmael's home at Tabudirira Housing Co-operative in Budiriro remains deserted.

Police are also hunting down more sect members believed to have been involved in the violence after arresting 28 of them between Friday and yesterday.

Most of the arrests were made in the Green Valley area of Epworth.

Some Budiriro residents on Monday destroyed Madzibaba Ishmael's shrine after he allegedly incited his followers to brutally assault rivals, police officers and journalists last Friday.

Seven police officers in riot gear, journalists and members of the ACCZ were seriously injured when the sect members attacked them with shepherd's staff, sticks and stones as they sang "Hondo Yepfumo Neropa".

This was after ACCZ president Archbishop Johannes Ndanga announced that the sect had been banned from operating in Zimbabwe because it violated national and Christian laws and norms.

There are allegations of widespread abuse of women in the sect, with children not being allowed to attend conventional schools.

Neighbours allege Madzibaba Ishmael had a mental illness that manifested in 2008, and that Madzibaba Enock of the Venguwo Tsvuku sect helped him stabilise for a while.

Madzibaba Enock told The Herald he had broken ranks with Madzibaba Ishmael when he started acting erratic and calling himself "God".

A woman got herself into trouble after sending obscene WhatsApp messages to her lover’s wife. Soneni Dube, 23, from Bulawayo’s Emganwini suburb was yesterday dragged to court by Janeth Matewa, 39, for insulting her via WhatsApp. Dube appeared before West Commonage provincial magistrate Willard Maphios Moyo facing charges of violating the Postal and Communications Act.

Prosecuting, Mufaro Mageza said on Tuesday last week, Dube had an altercation with Matewa who is a teacher at Baines Infant School and Dube ended up insulting her. In her message, Dube bragged about how she enjoyed having sex with Matewa’s husband.

“As for me I actually like every bit of it, having sex in your house, on your bed, in your car, doing anal sex, using your bathing towel and after that you use it to bath your face. Ask why your face is rough,” read part of the message Dube sent to Matewa.

Quizzed on why she sent the messages, Dube said she acted out of rage after Matewa provoked her.
“I was responding to the message she had sent me and out of anger I retaliated and insulted her. Before the incident I didn’t have her cell number so when I asked who was sending me a message, she responded by saying only a fool will ask that,” said Dube.

She said their misunderstanding started after she had dragged Matewa’s husband, Robert Nyazika, to the maintenance court for failing to take care of his child.
Although Matewa was not called to testify in the matter, the state outline revealed she knew Dube as her husband’s ex-girlfriend.

The provincial magistrate Moyo remanded Dube out of custody for sentencing today.

POLICE have arrested a South African millionaire running a game farm near West Nicholson, his lawyer has confirmed.

Frikkie Lutzkie was arrested shortly after disembarking at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport on Monday, his attorney Vonani Majoko told Chronicle.

Lutzkie reportedly informed the authorities that he would be coming "to clear the air" following his involvement in a May 4 helicopter incident at Doddieburn Ranch that raised a lot of speculation after he buried the chopper.

Efforts to get a comment from police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba were in vain as a person who answered her mobile phone said she was busy.

However, Majoko said police took Lutzkie to Gwanda following the arrest and was brought to Bulawayo yesterday en route to Harare.

The lawyer added that the South African is yet to be informed of the charges he is facing.

"What we can confirm is that he has been in police custody since the 2nd of June. He flew into the country and landed at Bulawayo airport having made prior arrangements with the police that he was coming into the country to clear the air over allegations that he had committed certain offences as widely reported in the press," said Majoko.

"He did not come following any application for extradition, he came voluntarily. He was taken to Gwanda where he was held overnight, was then brought to Bulawayo on the 3rd enroute to Harare."

Lutzkie's arrest follows the deportation over the weekend of Kevin Bloom, a man whom he had seconded to Doddieburn Ranch to check on Russian tourists who were camped there, an impeccable source told Chronicle yesterday.

"I am an investor. I have not committed any crime. I have never been convicted of any crime in my life. What could I have done?"

Lourens Botha, Doddieburn Ranch manager and Pieter Marais, one of Lutzkie's alleged employees, are currently out on bail for allegedly working without permits at the ranch and they have since been ordered to stay at their residence in Burnside.

Over the weekend, Chronicle established that the ranch has been placed under heavy security including a 24-hour surveillance that has seen law enforcement agents restricting visits to the property.

In an interview on Sunday, Lutzkie stuck to his previous version that he had not violated any of the country's laws as he buried the chopper in fear that some people, especially children, might tamper with it.

He said this could result in it exploding, injuring or killing people.

"I am an investor. I have not committed any crime. I have never been convicted of any crime in my life," he said.

"What could I have done? If there was an explosion and people died, I was going to be arrested my friend."
