A Harare man told the court he was shocked to see his wife at a local club during the night when he thought she was at home. Jerry Mugwayi told the court that his wife Nadine Hungwa would also visit night clubs until recently when he caught her having fun at a local watering hole.
This came to light at the Harare civil courts where Nadine was seeking a protection order against Jerry. “She is not as decent as she wants the court to believe; Yes we are having problems at home but we are both to blame because for the two years that we have been married I never knew she was visiting clubs. I got to know about it when I found her in a club at night. She was having drinks with a group of people whom she has never introduced me to before,” said Jerry.
Meanwhile Nadine told the court that she wanted to be protected from being verbally and physically abused by Jerry. ” I moved out of our matrimonial home and and all I want is peace. I want him barred from insulting me or beating me. ” If he wants to see the children he has to get a court order because I don’t want him to come to my parents’s house where I am staying without the Police, ” said Nadine
Magistate Gamuchirai Siwadi, who presided over the case, granted the protection order which orders Jerry to keep his peace towards Nadine
