A HARARE man, Trymore Mangeza, has accused his wife of two years of using juju to “lock” his manhood in a bid to stop him from having extra-marital sex.

Mangeza made the claims yesterday at the Civil Court while responding to an application for a protection order made by his wife Sifelani Mapepa.

Mapepa had told the court that Mangeza was an abusive husband who was in the tendency of beating her and also threatening to commit suicide.

“I am tired of being assaulted and threatened with death, I have been living in fear because Mangeza is suicidal,” Mapepa said.

In his response, Mangeza conceded that there had been disputes between him and his wife saying they emanated from the fact that the latter performed some evil ritual on him.

“We have frequent misunderstandings at home because this woman ‘locked’ my manhood so that I am unable to have sexual intercourse with other women,” Mangeza said.

“As of the issue of abuse, she is actually the one who insults me even in public.”

Mapepa, however, denied the accusations saying she had no knowledge of juju whatsoever and that Mangeza should confront his girlfriends.

“I did not perform any ritual on his manhood, instead of accusing me he should ask his girlfriends,” Mapepa said.

“He is the only one who knows what happens when he sleeps around. Besides, he has failed several times to prove that I am the one who ‘locked’ him.”

Presiding magistrate Barbara Mateko granted the protection order in favour of Mapepa.

Zimbabwe’s biggest and most celebrated prophet, Emmanuel Makandiwa, who leads the United Family International Church (UFIC) issued a shocking prophecy about South Africa’ Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa three weeks ago, warning him that his “life was in danger”.

The celebrity gospel preacher, considered the posterboy of Prosperity Gosepl in Zimbabwe, Emmanuel Makandiwa leads arguably the third biggest church in the entire African continent. In Zimbabwe alone, his church has over 3 million followers, in a country whose adult population is just around 6 million. Meaning half the adults in Zimbabwe follow his church.

In a video released on his official church television account, Christ TV, the prophet said that God told him to pray for Cyril Ramaphosa’s family, because their life is in great grave danger.

The prophet says God gave him a vision, with Ramaphosa’s name. He said God told him that he saw in the vision, the Ramaphosa family in turmoil as they were searching for “something that had taken off which was not supposed to take off.”

In the video, the prophet said God told him that the matter would have something to do with re-mapping (the tweaking of engine’s for better performance) and would be linked to a disaster involving the air.

In the prophecy, Makandiwa said, “it was clear, it was written Cyril Ramaphosa”

The prophet stated that Ramaphosa should not fly, as the aircraft he would fly with had hidden technical faults, and if it took off, Ramaphosa would die.

Three days later, Ramaphosa who was scheduled to several different venues announced that his appearances would be cancelled because of mechanical problems affecting his aircraft.

Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa is one of the less controversial of African prophets, and in his 8 years of a billion dollar ministry is yet to be named in any controversy.

His followers fondly flaunt the fact that he has never issued a fake prophecy in his entire time in ministry, and his prophecies are always spot on and clear, unlike the likes of TB Joshua, Walter Magaya, and company.

The video warning Ramaphosa to investigate his planes, and that his life was in danger is said to have been released weeks before the actual problems began. The church states that it was their prayers, and their warnings that led to the investigation of the plane, and saved Cyril’s life.

At the time of writting, the Presidency had not commented on the matter.

A MAN from Greenhill suburb in Bulawayo was allegedly caught red-handed indecently abusing a woman in a shopping queue in the city recently.Mluleki Moyo (27) pleaded not guilty to indecent assault when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Charity Maphosa yesterday.

He was alleged to have unzipped his trousers and then rubbed his private parts on the back of a 21-year-old woman, who was standing in front of him on March 17 this year.

A security guard at the shop, Shelton Masina, told the court he witnessed the incident.

“I heard a woman screaming and thought someone had stolen something,” he said.

“I went and took the accused to a secluded place, where I searched him and I did not find anything. I went back to the lady and told her that the accused had nothing. The lady said he had not stolen, but had exposed his manhood and rubbed it on another woman’s back in the shopping queue.”

He said when he searched Moyo, he realised he had no un_derwear and the women told him that they wanted to make a police report.

“I then thought it might be true that he did what they were saying because he had no un_derwear,” the guard said.

“When I asked him why was he not wearing un_derwear, he said he had left it at home and was wearing two pairs of trousers.”

The complainant said she felt the man was physically abusing her and believed that he possessed supernatural powers to have se_xual intercourse with her without any physical contact.

The magistrate remanded Moyo out of custody on $100 bail to April 15 for judgment.

A MARRIAGE of 23 years has reportedly collapsed after a foreign based man came back home and found out his wife had replaced him.

Phillip Sakadza,47,got the shock of his life when he came back home around 3am expecting to be welcomed by his wife Jenifer Sakadza 44,but to his surprise she was nowhere to be found.

Sakadza got into one of his spare bedrooms where his mother-in-law Enia Charumbira was sleeping looking for Jenifer.

Sakadza and Jenifer are now planning for divorce and the former retaliated by marrying another wife.He is staying with the new wife at his family’s double storey house in Waterfalls.

Sakadza said the incident sparked the demise of him to marry another wife before approaching the courts of law for a divorce.

“I asked everyone and they told me that they did not know where she was.I looked for her everywhere,I got so worried,”said Sakadza.

“Her mother was staying at our house at that time and I defied tradition by barging into her bedroom whilst she was sleeping,I asked her and she failed to give me an answer on her child’s whereabouts.

“The guard then confined in me that madam was in the habit of entertaining other men.”

Sakadza is said to have started an investigation on his wife’s shenanigans.

“I found out that she was dating one Noel Badza. She would tip off the guard at our Waterfalls residence and let in her boyfriend in the evening and then she would send him off to the shopping centre early in the morning in a bid to let her boyfriend out before others were up.

“She even went with her boyfriend to my rural home in Musana saying he was our driver.

“When I came back from Angola she had moved out of the house and I talked to her parents and they gave me the green light to divorce her and marry another wife,”he said.

Sakadza then married another wife and now the two women are staying together in Waterfalls.

“Whilst the divorce is being finalised, Jenifer is staying with us and my new wife uses the first floor and she uses the ground floor.”

The two have 3 children together.Jenifer refused to entertain H-Metro after visiting their place of residence and responded by sending one of her child to get the writer’s contact details prompting to respond later.

Efforts to get Jenifer to comment were futile by the time of going to print.

SHE is only 14 but has already had se_x with more than 50 men. While other girls of her age are in form 2,Sarah joined the world’s oldest profession at the age of 13 in Epworth.

She only went as far as Grade 6 before dropping out of school after her grandmother who was taking care of her died in Honde Valley.

With no one to take care of her back in Honde, she decided to come to Harare for ‘green pastures’.The pastures have however been not so green for her ever since she arrived in Epworth and she found herself joining other se_x workers at a spot popularly known as ‘Pa Booster’.

She chronicles her story of how she found herself being a child prostitute, poverty being the core driver.

“My mother died when I was in Grade 2 and I have never known my father. My grandmother was taking care of me and unfortunately I had to fend for myself after her death.

“A friend I grew up with back in Honde who came for Christmas invited me over in Epworth saying I could try look for a job rather than starve to death saying I could try look for job. With no option I joined her when she travelled back after Christmas holidays and when I got here I found out that she was a se_x worker.

“She introduced me to se_x work saying that was the fastest way I could earn a living and pay rent and buy food,” says Sarah.

She struggles to hold back her tears as she tells the story of a girl who was deflowered by man she didn’t even know or love.

“I had never had se_x and my first time was with a mukorokoza who had offered $5,my friend told me to go for the offer as the rates are usually lower than that,She even said gods had smiled on me as such offers were had to come by.

“I was so afraid yet I had to offer the service since he had already paid.My friend told him to be gentle with me as this was my first time.I was shivering and didn’t know what to do,the guy had no time and he was not lenient with me.He told me not to waste his time.

“I could say he forced himself on me and because I was a vi_rgin,he didn’t want to use a co_ndom.I begged him to use one and fortunately he did. I’ve never felt so much pain,he gagged me as I screamed before ordering me to cooperate,”chronicles the teary Sarah.

She says when the man left, she thought of quitting and then remembered she had no one back in Honde.

“I bled for a week, told my friend how I could not do this anymore, she then reminded me how I needed to pay rent and put food on the table.

“I wanted to run,I was terrified, didn’t know what to do.It took about two weeks for me to get back on my feet and started working again.

“I picked myself up and was determined to make money.

Life has however not been easy,I have on several times been attacked by men who don’t want to pay.

“Recently I was stabbed on the arm as I fought a man who refused to pay.He only left me after I screamed and called for help.I have had men who have also refused to use co_ndoms saying that they had paid me more money.

“Our rates are usually US$0.80 or US$1 for two. Then we have those who come with better offers such as US$5 and these are the ones who want unprotected se_x,”she adds.

Oblivious of the risk of HIV and other STIs,she says she has had unprotected se_x on several occasions willingly and unwillingly. Her major fear is falling pregnant so she is on a contraceptive pill.

“I don’t have any option my sister.I will die anyway.I only had an HIV test once when I had an STI infection.Ndakaita inonzi drop and I was in so much pain.I was afraid to go to the clinic,I thought of what the nurses would say to me.

“I was then told of another clinic in Mbare that offers friendly services for free,so that is when I got treated. Then I tested HIV negative and they told me to return again for another test three months later of which I did,”she says.

Sarah says she has tried to look for a job as a maid but it hasn’t been easy as she has no form of identification so people are reluctant to stay with her.

Sarah is one example of the rising trend in Child prostitution in the country.According to National Aids Council monitoring and evaluating director,Amon Mpofu, teenage se_x workers have led to a rise in HIV incidence arguing that these had potential to reverse the HIV gains.

“HIV incidence remains very high in adolescents with girls being the most affected.Lately we have seen an increase in adolescent se_x workers and these are very vulnerable to HIV as they are not able to negotiate for safe se_x.

“This is a huge threat to the 90-90-90 target and we need to go an extra mile to address this challenge before it escalates,”says Mpofu.Epworth legislator,Zalerah Makari says the increasing trend of child prostitutes in her constituency was worrying arguing that poverty was the major driver.

“As you have seen,I have very young girls in my constituency who have already joined se_x work.My daily headache is what I can do to take those girls out of se_x work.”

“I have already started engaging se_x workers in Epworth and I have taken time to listen to their stories.Believe me not all of them enjoy what they are doing, they would really love to lead normal lives given the dangers they face in their daily activities.

“I wish corporate organisations could help me take those girls out of the streets, maybe if they could have income generating projects that could help them earn a living.

“The HIV fight is not complete if we ignore these girls, they are a threat to HIV management,”argues Hon Makari.

According to scientists, women account for nearly 60% of adults with HIV in sub-Sahara Africa, where unprotected heterose_xual se_x is primary driver of the epidemic.

While the nation is grappling with child pr_ostitution,Sarah is one living example of an innocent girl who has been forced into prostitution by poverty. Her prayer is to get a job so that she could earn a living.

“I don’t enjoy this,I have never enjoyed it but what do I do with no form of identification which has made it worse because no one wants to employ me.”

**Name withheld to protect the girl.

HARARE City Council has threatened to raze down all illegally extended houses, tuck shops and booths around the city as part of its campaign to rid the capital of unwanted structures.

“The city has zero tolerance on illegal structures and settlements. We are targeting illegal extensions. All extensions on properties have to be approved by council and if they are not, then they are deemed illegal and will be removed,” city spokesperson Michael Chideme said yesterday.

He declined to say when the local authority would launch the blitz although he warned owners of illegal structures to regularise their properties.

The unauthorised extensions on houses have taken shape in most surburbs around Harare including Mbare, Glen View, Kambuzuma and Mufakose, among other areas.

Tuck shops have also been erected either within properties or outside houses in most surburbs.

This, observers say was as a result of the high rate of unemployment and shortage of accommodation that has forced people to build tuck-shops and illegal accommodation structures either at the back or in front of their houses to accommodate family members or to rent out.

The operation is likely to rekindle sad memories of the Operation Murambatsvina of 2005, strongly condemned by the international community as against the tenets of human rights as many people suffered during the time.

Council is also expected to continue demolishing houses built in illegal settlements, a move that will see more than a thousand families being affected.

A 28-year-old commuter omnibus driver allegedly attempted to run over a police officer as he tried to evade arrest for picking passengers at an undesignated point in Chitungwiza.

Maxwell Subili of Cherutombo in Marondera employed by Kadzomba Tours drove the bus for a distance of more than 5km while Constable Misheck Makosa (24) clung on to the wipers and bumper.

Subili was not asked to plead to attempted murder charges when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo.

Mr Murendo remanded him to January 11 on $50 bail.

The court heard that Cst Makosa of Tynwald, Harare stationed at Chitungwiza Police Station was on duty of the district reaction group at around 9am in the company of Constables Shainai and Kapfiso.

The officers were at Makoni Shopping Centre on December 20 when Cst Makosa spotted Subili loading passengers at an undesignated point near a Marondera rank.

It is alleged that Cst Makosa warned Subili of the unbecoming behaviour, but he did not take heed.

After some few minutes, Cst Makosa approached Subili and stopped in front of his vehicle, a Toyota Hiace indicating that he was under arrest.

The court heard that Subili allegedly drove towards Cst Makosa in attempt to run over him.

Cst Makosa jumped and clung to the vehicle’s wipers and locked his legs on the bumper.

Subili allegedly drove his bus with the officer hanging on for a distance of about 10km.

Cst Makosa was rescued by his workmates who boarded a private car and went after Subili.

Subili allegedly stopped after his vehicle was blocked leading to his arrest.

Mr Norman Koropi prosecuted.
A PROMINENT Bulawayo gynaecologist Mr Solomon Patricio Balus, died while he was in a banking hall on Thursday morning. The Sudanese doctor was 60. He was the head of the gynaecology and obstetrics department at the United Bulawayo Hospitals.

According to his secretary, Mr Abel Mutoredzanwa, Dr Balus was at Standard Chartered Bank in the city centre on Wednesday morning when he experienced difficulties in breathing.

“We understand that he came to the bank and found the queues very long and went back to sit in his car. Moments later he disembarked from his car and went in to the banking hall,” he said.

Dr Harrison Rambanapasi, one of Dr Balus’ students who worked with him from 2009 up to the time of his death, said they had lost a mentor and a man of good character.

“He inspired me to specialise in gynaecology and obstetrics and he made an effort to demystify some myths surrounding this field and he taught us in very simplified terms which made us understand him better and do our job to the best of our ability,” said Dr Rambanapasi.

Dr Balus’relatives were expected in the country late last night from Sudan, England and Botswana. He is survived by a wife who is in England and three children.

Three members of the same family drowned on Christmas Day at Whitewaters dam a few kilometers outside the city of Gweru. The three; Anesu, Blessed and Kudzai Mundondo, all aged 19, are of number 38 Makey Road, Fitchlea, Kwekwe.

The three cousins were in the company of Darlington Mundondo aged 54 and an uncle aged 38 when they decided to take a swim at the dam.

When they got into the waters, they immediately drowned and could not be helped as the waters are too deep.

The bodies of the deceased are still submerged in water as the police sub-aqua unit is yet to arrive from Bulawayo.

A convict who escaped from Hurungwe Farm Prison in February this year was yesterday slapped with a 15-year jail term for escaping from lawful custody and unlawful entry charges.
Saul Kamademera (36) was sentenced to eight years in prison for escaping from jail and six years for unlawful entry by Mbare magistrate Mr Stanford Mambanje.

A further 18 months which was suspended on his sentence when he was convicted of unlawful entry in 2013 was brought into effect. In total, Kamademera will serve an effective 15 years and six months in jail. The sentences will be served separately.

Mr Mambanje said Kamademera’s behaviour had shown that he was a menace to society, as he had not learnt from his previous conviction by committing a similar offence.

Facts are that sometime in 2013 Kamademera was convicted at the Harare Magistrates’ Court of unlawful entry and was sentenced to a seven year jail term.

In February this year, he escaped whilst he was working in a maize field.

Kariba Dam water levels have dropped to 16% despite the current rains falling throughout the country, the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) has said.

Last month, the water levels in the dam that produces the bulk of the country’s electricity had dropped to 21% from 40% recorded in June before falling to the current 16%.

ZRA indicated that only one-metre water levels were left to sustain the country until meaningful rains pound.

Although the authority did not give an interpretation to the statistics, the latest drop has seen the dam’s capacity going down to 21% compared to 60% recorded last year during the same period.

Zimbabwe which requires up to 2 200 megawatts (MW) of electricity per day, is currently producing 800MW and importing 95MW.

AT least 200 families in Budiriro and Aspindale were left homeless yesterday after Harare City Council razed down their houses claiming they were illegal structures.
Council officials said the houses were built on wetlands and on land reserved for a school and clinic and were close to water tanks.

Some of the affected families were members of Zanu PF-aligned housing co-operatives — namely Vineyard, Tinopona and Nodville.

The residents questioned the timing and motive of the exercise which came shortly after Local Government minister Saviour Kasukuwere reportedly assured them that he was working towards regularising their stay.
Angry party officials threatened to dump the ruling party for failing to defend them.

Ironically, the demolitions coincided with commemorations of International Human Rights Day.

When our source visited the area, hundreds of armed municipal police officers were manning the area as residents were busy searching for their valuable household goods from the rubble, while council front-end loaders continued pulling down other structures.

“Kasukuwere was here recently and he promised us papers so that we stay freely. Are these the papers he has brought for us? We belong to Zanu PF and he came to campaign recently, the party won and now this?” a resident who declined to be named said.

Kasukuwere was not answering his phone yesterday, while mayor Bernard Manyenyeni was at pains to defend the council position on social media platforms.

“We are very keen to protect the city’s superior town planning and in doing that, we discourage any form of unplanned settlements. Where this has gone ahead without authority, we first seek opportunities for regularising as many of the structures as we possibly can,” Manyenyeni said.

“Where this is not possible, we encourage the affected people to relocate themselves, failing which we undertake demolitions only as a last resort and this must be done as humanely as can be. The sight of women and children being harshly displaced is not a good one to observe — no one must be seen to be enjoying this painful process.”

“There are enough arguments on both sides of this debate. We have enough people screaming for ruthless enforcement and we have enough voices pleading for the victims. The other sore aspect is that in most cases the victims would have been misled by pseudo-authorities, land barons and even some of our staff quite easily.”

Council spokesperson Michael Chideme said: “We can confirm that some illegal structures were demolished yesterday as some were built on wetlands, while others were too close to water tanks, which is a life hazard in the event the tanks burst.

“We will repeat this again that people should not buy residential stands from third parties without approval from council. We are the local authority and have jurisdiction over all the land in Harare.”

Several human rights groups described the demolitions as inhumane.

A 20-year-old Madlambuzi woman allegedly lost her virginity when her sister’s boyfriend raped her several times, in a incident that lasted 12 hours. Smile Moyo, 26, from the same area allegedly force-marched the woman four kilometres to his home. A court heard he threatened her with an iron bar to instil fear.Moyo allegedly went on to rape the woman from about 9PM till 9AM on the following day, without protection, and later demanded that she buys him opaque beer.

He appeared before regional magistrate Sibongile Msipa-Marondedze yesterday facing rape charges and pleaded not guilty. The woman told the court Moyo found her watching a movie at around 8PM and inquired about her sister’s whereabouts.

“I told him that my sister wasn’t at home and he forced the door open. He ordered me to accompany him to his homestead,” said the woman. She said she refused and Moyo assaulted her and dragged her to his homestead. She told the court she could not scream as Moyo was throttling her.

“We got into his room and he forced me to strip threatening to assault me with the iron bar. He said he was happy that finally he was going to have sex with me as I had always been a hard nut to crack,” narrated the woman.

She said Moyo raped her the first time and told her he wanted to do a pornographic style with her, wanted to do her like a p*rn star. “Afterwards he left saying he wanted to find a knife to open my small h***.”

According to the woman, Moyo failed to get the knife and came back to force himself on her many times the whole night. “He raped me the whole night and I only got to breathe when I asked to relieve myself. He would release me only to hold my hand and take me outside while I was still naked and continue raping me,” she said.

Moyo disputed the woman’s version of events. He claimed the two were in love saying that was why the woman did not scream for help or attempt to flee. “I know that rape victims scream during the act but she didn’t scream or attempt to escape as we had consensual intercourse.

“She didn’t refuse to accompany me to my house and didn’t show any signs that she was disagreeing with everything we did,” said Moyo in his defence. Magistrate Msipa-Marondedze remanded Moyo out of custody to today for judgment.

Prosecuting Paida Zengeni alleges that on October 18, Moyo went to the woman’s homestead and knocked on the door. “Moyo ordered the complainant to accompany him to his homestead. He held her by the neck and threatened to kill her if she made any noise or resisted.

“The accused person assaulted the complainant once on the back with a mopane stick when she refused to enter his house,” said Zengeni. The prosecutor said the woman managed to flee on the following morning after the 12-hour rape ordeal. She reported the matter to her aunt, who then notified the police.

Three people were killed, while 19 others were seriously injured when a kombi allegedly trafficking 21 Ethiopians to South Africa burst a tyre and overturned near Shangani yesterday.
The accident occurred at the 60km peg along the Bulawayo-Harare Road at around 1am.
Police confirmed that the Zimbabwean driver died on admission at the United Bulawayo Hospitals while two Ethiopians died on the spot.

Only the conductor, also a Zimbabwean, escaped unhurt and the vehicle was a write-off.
National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi said the two Ethiopians died from head injuries.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police would like to confirm the death of two foreigners and a local driver who died in an accident. The Toyota Hiace they were travelling in burst its front tyre, veered off the road and overturned before landing on its left side,” said Chief Supt Nyathi.
He said police are investigating how the foreigners entered the country as there was speculation that they were being trafficked to South Africa.

“As police we are conducting investigations on the presence of foreigners in the country,” he said. Chief Supt Nyathi urged motorists to abide by the country’s road laws to curb unnecessary accidents. He said it was everyone’s duty to observe the country’s laws.

Bulawayo Chief Fire Officer Mr Richard Peterson said all the passengers were Ethiopians.
“All the passengers were of Ethiopian origin. They were rushed to Bulawayo’s United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) and Mpilo Central Hospital,” said Mr Peterson.

He said 16 passengers were taken to UBH while three were rushed to Mpilo Central Hospital.
“The only person who escaped unhurt was the conductor who was handed over to police,” said Peterson.

“Two of the Fire Brigade ambulances, one from Mpilo Central Hospital and another from Mars Ambulance Services, carried the accident victims to hospitals,” he said.
A witness said the accident scene was horrific as some people had broken limbs.

“The bodies were lying on the ground while injured passengers sat by the road side some with broken body limbs,” said the source.

Another source said the kombi crew was “paid handsomely” to transport the Ethiopians to Bulawayo.

“What we understand is that a kombi crew was paid $300 by a truck driver who had smuggled them into Zimbabwe. They were going to connect to South Africa using a vehicle that was in Bulawayo,” said the source.

The Chronicle arrived at scene as the wreckage was being towed to Bulawayo.
It looked like a miracle that there were people who got out of it alive.

Mystery surrounds the death of a Karoi school headmaster who was found dead in a Chinhoyi cemetery with froth coming out of his mouth on Sunday morning.

Chikangwe High School head, Shingirai Peter Paganga (52), was found lying dead by a passerby, Evron Kembo, at around 5am on Sunday.

Kembo was on his way to prepare a grave for the burial of his relative later that day.

Acting Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera confirmed the incident, adding that investigations were still in progress.

“We are handling a matter in which a Chikangwe High School headmaster was found lying dead in Chinhoyi Cemetery.

“Foul play cannot be ruled out as police are still putting together pieces of the puzzle,” said Asst Insp Kohwera.

Paganga’s body had no visible physical injuries, but he was frothing in the mouth while some blood was found at the back of his head and right hand.

His body was taken to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital for post-mortem to establish the cause of death which was expected to be conducted yesterday.

Asst Insp Kohwera said police who attended the scene established that his wallet with $63,

identification particulars, cellphone, two packets of tablets and bank cards were in his pocket. Paganga was among the pioneers of Zimbabwean teachers who trained in Cuba, specialising in Mathematics and Science

HARARE - Former deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara is facing prosecution on contempt of court charges after he reportedly accused the judiciary of playing to the whims of Zanu PF.In a judgment delivered yesterday, the Constitutional Court said that Mutambara had a case to answer.

Mutambara’s case dates back to April 2008, when he reportedly wrote an article titled “A shameful betrayal of national independence” in a weekly newspaper.

According to court papers, in the story, Mutambara wrote, “In terms of the House of Assembly, the agenda is to seize at least nine seats from the opposition through recounts and court action leading to re-runs.

“This explains the 23 recounts Zec (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) had instituted. There is clearly criminal collusion between Zec and Zanu PF.

“To add insult to injury, this unlikely marriage is dutifully consummated by a compliant and pliable judiciary typified and exemplified by Judge Tendai Uchena’s unreasonable and thoughtless decision not to order Zec to release presidential results.”

Mutambara, however, approached the Constitutional Court following his arrest in June 2008, claiming the prosecution was a violation of his right to equal protection of the law and freedom of expression.

According to court papers, Mutambara argued that the statement that he made was of a political nature and fell in the category of a political speech but the attorney-general and the commissioner-general of police Augustine Chihuri, who were cited as respondents in the application, said the words were clearly not within the limits of reasonable courtesy and good faith.

“A reading of the offending statement conveys the clear impression that the applicant’s major grievance was the perceived collusion between the political party Zanu PF and Zec.

“It appears that the applicant regarded the vote recount as a result of some pressure having been brought to bear upon Zec to undertake the exercise, as part of a Zanu PF agenda to seize at least nine parliamentary seats from the opposition political parties,” Constitutional Court judge Elizabeth Gwaunza said.

She said that Mutambara went on to draw the judiciary into the perceived conspiracy between Zanu PF and Zec.

Mutambara argued that the State was discriminating him, because President Robert Mugabe had previously made relatively “tough” but similar comments on a member of the judiciary.

However, the court said that the president was immune to prosecution while in office.

“When all is told, I find that the applicant’s claim lacks merit in all respects and ought to be dismissed. The application be and is hereby dismissed,” Gwaunza ruled, in a judgment that the other eight Constitutional Court judges unanimously agreed to.

A leaked female cop's n-ude photograph has gone viral on social media amid claims she could be luring men for s-ex.

Portia, Chiwanza Shangwa, 31, assigned to women soccer teams as a medical doctor for Harare South is seen in the photograph exposing her p-rivates. The photo clearly shows a dark, well shaven vag!na with big and seemingly juicy 'matwinj' spead wide apart.

Constable Shangwa has since been reassigned back to Machipisa Police Station for other duties, impeccable source said..

In an interview, she dismissed 'rumours' that she is the one in the circulating pictures arguing that she has a tatoo on one of her thighs.

She however admitted that the person in the picture looks like her.

Shangwa, a constable, for the past 10 years and a mother of four, also dismissed allegations that her ex-lover might have leaked it.

"I agreed to meet you so that I could give my side of the story because my phone has been inundated with calls from men who want a date," said Shangwa.

"My boyfriend also got the chance to see the photograph and he was not at all moved. He was convinced they were not my privates since I have a tatoo on one of the thighs.

"As for the facial similarity, even my boyfriend once mistook me for another woman in town and called me over the phone. I separated with my husband in 2011 and I have one boyfriend satisfying me right now. I am not after other men as alleged.

"My mobile phone is open to my family and relatives and I can't keep such pictures in my phone," said Shangwa.

As she was being interviewed, Shangwa received a call from a a man believed to be a traffic cop saying his friend from the Anti Corruption was interested in meeting her after viewing the picture.

"Ndapinda busy nevarume. Hezvo Mutandwa avekuti arikuda kuuya neshamwari yake yeku Anti Corruption nenyaya ye foto. Ndacorrupter ani chaizvo? I don't have such big organs as those shown on the pic. I do wish to have such though," said Shangwa

Interestingly, Shangwa is celebrating her birthday yesterday.

Government is crafting legislation to outlaw the use of electric geysers as it battles to reduce electricity consumption following crippling power outages that have hit the country.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy and Power Development, Mr Partson Mbiriri, yesterday said electric geysers consumed 40 percent of domestic power and that Government was working on ways to replace them with solar-powered geysers.

He said a statutory instrument would soon be gazetted to make it a crime to use an electric geyser and that an announcement to that effect would be made next week.

He said a deadline to phase out electric geysers would be set and people given time to replace their current gadgets with solar-powered geysers which are cheaper to manage and consume considerably less power and are environmentally friendly.

Mr Mbiriri told our Bulawayo Bureau on the sidelines of a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Expo in Bulawayo that Government blundered by failing to invest in electricity generation for past 25 years.

"There will be a launch of this programme (banning of electric geysers) next week and details will be availed then. But certainly a decision has been taken because electric geysers use 40 percent of power in any household," said Mr Mbiriri.

"And of course we leave those electric geysers on even when we don't need to use hot water. They are on 24 /7. A decision has been made; rather than continue to waste electricity, let's substitute electric geysers with solar geysers. There will be an announcement sometime next week, most probably on Wednesday when the Minister of Energy is going to launch the programme."

He said a statutory instrument was still being crafted to make possession of electric geysers illegal.

"Once it has been legislated for, yes it will be illegal. What will happen is there will be recognition of the amount of time that is needed to roll out this programme. Whereas on paper it may seem illegal, it will be a question of how much time we give to the country to implement the programme. At a certain cut-off date, it will be illegal," Mr Mbiriri said.

He said Government was in the process of rehabilitating the country's four thermal power stations to address the electricity challenges.

Mr Mbiriri said the nation should not expect immediate results from the power stations as they would take a year and half to start generating power.

"For Bulawayo thermal power station, we've been offered $87 million by an Indian bank and $70 million for the Harare one. Each of the projects will take 18 months to be implemented," he said.

Mr Mbiriri could not confirm whether the money was readily available.

"The money has been offered officially. Its availability in the country is neither here nor there. We go by the offer as made officially through Foreign Affairs and certainly we don't consider that those offers can turn out to be something else," he said.

He said it was unfortunate that the country was only reacting to power problems after they had reached unprecedented levels.

"We did not invest in the energy sector, in the power sector, for many years. The last phase of Hwange was done in 1987. From 1987 until last year when we had Kariba extension we did not invest any money in additional power generation," he said.

Mr Mbiriri said the country should expect improved electricity generation in 2018 when projects that are being implemented are complete.

"We anticipate that come end of 2017, we should experience material improvement in power generation. In 2018, we should be generating enough to meet our domestic requirements," he said.

Mr Mbiriri said the country was now saving about 200MW through the implementation of the cash power project. He said low water levels at Kariba Dam had worsened the situation.

"There is nothing dramatic you can do in response. In other words you can't find a quick solution to reduced generation from Kariba or any other station," he said.

Yesterday, the Zimbabwe Electricity and Distribution Company released a new load-shedding schedule which will see households and commercial entities going for hours without electricity.

The power utility said the level and duration of load-shedding could go beyond advertised schedules.

"In order to assist in reducing the power demand, customers are encouraged to use the limited power sparingly by switching off all non-essential loads. Domestic geysers, swimming pool pumps and jacuzzis should be switch off at peak times for more areas to have power. Large power users are being requested to reduce their demand during the morning and evening peak periods of 5am to 10am and 5pm to 10pm respectively," the company said.

United Family International Church(UFIC) founder and Leader, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa has prophesied that a prominent person will die soon in an aeroplane but said he would elaborate on the prophesy at his church's Judgement Night 3 Service at the National Sports Stadium in Harare at the weekend.

Makandiwa made the prophecy during UFIC's Tuesday evening service in Chitungwiza.

Church Spokesperson, Pastor Prime Kufa confirmed the prophecy saying more would be revealed on Sunday.

"He will elaborate on the prophecy on Sunday. He will elaborate on when it will happen, where and describe the field of the prominent person, whether he will be an artiste, businessman or politician," Pastor Kufa said.

A church member who attended the service quoted Makandiwa extensively, revealing how the events leading to the death would unfold.

"I can see a prominent person and he is like in the cloud. Let me clarify, he is in an aeroplane. I can see the Lord taking his spirit. I can see people trying to resuscitate him and they will pull down an oxygen mask but he is already dead right there in the sky.

"But I can see that when they land, they will take the body, for he will no longer be a person, to the hospital for two or three days because they don't want the prophecy to be confirmed."

Makandiwa has made several prophecies in the past with his followers saying most of them had come to pass although some sceptics remain unconvinced.

The man of cloth's followers claim the UFIC leader, On January 11, prophesied a chemical blast that rocked a warehouse in Tianjinm China, last week, killing more than 100 people and leaving more that 700 others hospitalised.

IN a video footage circulated by church members, Makandiwa said a deadly blast would rock China and that it would take days for the rescue teams to gather strewn bodies.

Makandiwa also prophesied that the blast would cause massive pollution. - Elite

Municipalities must not demolish houses built by homeseekers duped by land barons, Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister Saviour Kasukuwere has said.

In an interview on ZBC SFM yesterday, Minister Kasukuwere said the land barons must compensate their victims. He said councillors implicated in land scams must be investigated and punished.
“We have given instructions to all councils to stop the demolitions. The residents should be compensated by the land barons and we should make sure they are accountable for what they did,” he said.

Minister Kasukuwere said the Government “must not be made to follow after the land barons”.
“Government must lead and that is why we have come up with this ambitious programme to roll out houses,” he said.

The net is fast closing in on Harare City Council employees implicated in the scam.
Sources told The Herald yesterday that police were keen to interview the suspects.

The sources would not divulge the names for fear of jeopardising investigations.
“We are aware of some of these council officials and from the information that I got, they will soon be picked up for questioning,” said the source.

Last week 15 suspected land barons were arrested in Harare after pocketing thousands of dollars from desperate home- seekers.
