ORGANISERS of the forthcoming Harare Lockdown show have promised improved security at the event scheduled for December 18, at the Harare International Conference Centre.
The gig will feature superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, Jah Prayzah, South African outfit Mafikizolo, Alexio and Zambian Roberto.
Speaking to NewsDay yesterday, organiser of the gig Simmad said they had smoothened their planning to make sure the gig would be hustle-free.
“We are working to ensure a smooth and easy entry and that will be guaranteed this time, because we have a fast electronic ticket checking which will make sure there will be no queues,” Simmad said.
“Our tickets are embedded with an electronic and secure secret code. At the entrance, the ticket and its secret code are simply scanned by the system. It takes less than a fraction of a second to validate a ticket and reject or accept it. In just a second, we can, therefore, admit many people if they are fast enough.
“We will also have numerous entry points for upstairs, separate and multiple entrances for downstairs.”
He said they would also ensure that although the concert would start at 8pm doors, would open at least two hours earlier.
Simmad Entertainment was also responsible for the Mafikizolo gig that was chaotic last year, with hundreds of revellers locked outside with a glass panel giving in to pressure.
Simmad said they would make sure the number of police details would be increased, while police dogs would be in the periphery.
“We have engaged the police, who, as usual, have been co-operative to make sure everyone’s car is safe and that everyone’s personal belongings like cell phones are safe,” Simmad said.
Tickets for the show have been pegged at $15 for general entrance, which would be upstairs, while the VIP area will be charged $25.
Tickets are selling at Reflections branches like Joins City, ZB Towers, Sam Levy’s Village, Westgate and Avondale.
