A married primary school teacher in Mhondoro is ruing the night he had se_x in the car with his ‘on off’ girlfriend after she fell pregnant and demanded that they move in together. Munashe Mukonzi, 33, confirmed his illicit affair with Patience Marira, 30, who later fell pregnant after a bout of unprotected se_x.

The matter was heard before Chief Mashayamombe who ruled that Mukonzi’s TOYOTA Noah vehicle and property at his apartment at Kawara primary school be impounded after he failed to attend the hearing. Narrating his ordeal, Munashe felt justice was not delivered as the chief ordered for the seizure of his belongings for his own use.

“We had always had an ‘on-off’ relationship with Patience,” he said. “We officially broke up this year and while we were trying to mend the affair, we had se_x in my car and she fell pregnant. I never denied the fact that the baby was mine but because we were no longer together, I ignored her when she requested for preparation money from me. She even came to stay with me and my wife twice but the situation was too tense for her that she decided to go back home where her family decided to report me to the chief and the police”.

The Mushiriwindi family (Patience’s family) is said to have accused Munashe of rape and they demanded $3000 as damage through the police. Munashe said he failed to attend the chief’s trial due to a relative’s funeral which resulted in the latter sending men to seize his property.

“I could not attend the trial because of a funeral in Zaka and I even communicated with the chief but surprisingly in three days I received a summon from him which I did not respond to as well. In a few days, he sent three men to collect my property, humiliating me in front of my workmates. While they were tussling with me, they got hold of my car keys and took away my car,” he said. He added that he went to the chief’s premises twice and found out that his car was being used.

“Neighbours told me that my car was being used as a private taxi around there. The chief denied it sanctioning the move claiming that he had left his wife to take care of the car. At one point, I went there and I could not find my car but when I called the chief’s wife she did not answer and even switched off her phone,” Munashe said.

Patience on the other hand said she had nothing to do with the seizure of Munashe’s car and all she wanted was child support. “The only thing I regret is having an affair with that man because he has used so many ladies so far while neglecting his wife and children. It’s true that his car was being used in his absence but I had nothing to do with it. All I wanted was money for food and preparation because I am carrying his baby,” she said. Contacted for comment, chief Mashayamombe said Munashe was only trying to tarnish his image.

“That man is an unusual character indeed, he refused to show up at trial but still went on to take the issue to his lawyers for no apparent reason. The law forbids me to give a judgment that is over $1000 and I only wanted him to show up so that we discuss the issue fairly but he went on to report me to the police. The fact that he dumped Patience and he is not innocent at all but wants to appear like so,” said the Chief.

Asked why he abused Munashe’s car, Chief Mashayamombe said,”I never used his car, I am not aware of that since I was not around during the said period”.

He hit me with a bicycle chain all over my body. He repeatedly stomped on me. I sustained a deep cut on my middle finger and bruises on my left leg. I fell unconscious during the assault,” she said.

Gringo says comedy skits now flooding social media are amateurish. “Those are just people trying to market themselves but they are missing it by failing to engage experienced comedians in order to improve on the art and as a result, what they do ceases to be comedy,” he said.

Some comedians like Marabha and Baba Tencen have risen to prominence and raked in thousands of followers through physical features like tooth gaps but Gringo believes this is a sign of mediocrity.

Referring to the features as “natural disasters”, he slammed flaunting of physical deformities by jesters to gain artistic mileage as myopic conduct unworthy to be termed comedy. “Those are natural disasters and hayisiyo inoita kuti munhu aite [that’s not what makes one a] comedian. Comedy is an inherent art, that is why
even some who go to school to learn about it have failed,” he added while explaining that funny characters were usually directed by a well-defined script.

Meanwhile, Gringo’s once flourishing career has lost its glint, and he blames the misfortunes on lack of proper structures to enhance talents.

“As artists, we have no substantive organisations and a strong ministry which supports our work because usually the leaders of such are not artists, hence they do not understand our struggles,” he said while suggesting veterans like Aaron Chiundura Moyo would do way better.

Gospel songstress Mercy Mutsvene could be on her way out of her third marriage following reports that her relationship with politician and businessman Tongai Nheta has hit its lowest ebb.

Investigations carried out by The Standard Style showed that Mutsvene was no longer romantically involved with Nheta, who is alleged to be customarily married to another woman. The revelation conflicts with the musician’s sentiments last week where she claimed someone could have hacked her Facebook account and posted falsehoods on her wall, exposing a strained marriage.

The supposed faux pas has opened a Pandora’s box after a source divulged the union was water under the bridge as Nheta paid a bride price for one Zandile Mhlanga.

“They are divorced but are still staying together. Nheta paid lobola for Zandile late last year,” the source said.

A man has returned home from South Africa and found his wife in bed with their neighbour in Gweru.

Taviwana Mazuru (35) of Mkoba Village 13 went berserk and brutally assaulted his wife Joy Chitapa’s lover Paidamwoyo Patsiki (37) whom he had found naked in bed with his wife. There was chaos and pandemonium when police from Mkoba One, who were armed with AK-47 rifles, at first took to their heels after Mazuru disengaged his stun gun when they attempted to arrest him.

They only returned later after Mazuru informed them that he was not armed but he had a mere electric shocker.

“What happened is that I left the country in 2014 for South Africa. I had not returned home since then but my wife would always visit. I returned home after my relatives and friends gave me a tip-off that my wife was now having an affair with my neghbour Patsiki,” he said. Mazuru said when he got to the house Chitapa refused to open the door for him and he had to break a windowpane.

“I forcibly gained entry after breaking the window. Patsiki tried to escape but I tripped him to the ground and assaulted him using a log before shocking him with a stun gun. My wife called her sister Kundai who is a police officer at Mkoba One and she brought police officers to arrest me. The officers came armed with AK-47 rifles,” he said.

Mazuru was arrested but Patsiki and Chitapa later withdrew the matter before it was brought before the courts after Patsiki pleaded with the two that the matter would ruin his marriage. Patsiki refuted the allegations that he had a relationship with Chitapa. “I am not aware of what you are talking about. I do not know the people that you were talking about,” he said.

However, Sunday News is in possession of love texts that Patsiki sent to Chitapa referring to her as his love.

A MARRIED prison warden has been accused of pestering a self-confessed hooker to be his second wife after she satisfied him in bed, according to his WhatsApp conversations with the ‘tart’.

Kudzanai Chingwena confessed that he was prepared to marry Runyararo Junior Chaza, popularly known as Chihera in the Avenues area where she is into se_x work.

Junior, a former vegetable vendor in Budiriro who turned into prostitution, is against Chingwena’s decision to marry her saying prostitution pays better than being taken as a second wife.

Chingwena is now a nuisance to me, he constantly begs me to be his second wife,” said Junior.

“We started seeing each other from the time I was selling vegetables in Budiriro since he is from our neighbourhood.

“I satisfied him in bed that every time he leaves or comes home, he would pass through for a quickie and now he wants to take me as his second wife.

“Since I was realising too little from selling vegetables, I was satisfied with the little cash he would give me but now I can get almost US$200 on a good day and I cannot sacrifice kunodirwa mafuta anopisa nemukadzi wake.

“I warned him about his intention but he is serious, hanzi chero ukandibudisa muH-Metro ndirikukuda handikusiye.

“I told him that prostitution is better and he started hurling unprintable words to me that I am now angry with him, haadi kurambwa akaitasei, kana achida anachihera akadii kuvatsvaga paakaroora.

“I am no longer interested in him, if he wants se_x he must pay like other men hiring us here in the Avenues, madhara anouya kuno anobhadhara,” said Junior showing the messages sent by Chingwena.

Chingwena told H-Metro that Junior openly told him that she is now into prostitution denying allegations that he is after marrying her.

“I once got into a relationship with Junior before she told me that she is now a prostitute and from that day we are not in good books,” said Chingwena.

“As for marrying her I do not have such intentions only that she is no longer interested in me but hapana nyaya wangu siyana nazvo.

“Akatombondiudza kuti achaudza veH-Metro but siyana nazvo wangu,” he added.

WHILE most people, particularly Christians were busy commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary, an unidentified couple was on Good Friday caught intimate in the bushy Aloe Park.

The couple, despite recognising our mole’s long lenses could not stop their act. The incident happened in the thickets of Aloe Park, adjacent Meikles Park, at around 5am.

The pictures revealed a man believed to be in his early 30s intimate with the woman.

The Weekender could not publish some of the pictures as they are too graphic.

“The two were in their own world as I could hear some sounds. The man was so confident and never thought someone could come close to them. I was taking a walk when I decided to take some shots of them,’’ said The Weekender mole. The man was donning a red T-shirt, while the woman had a black and white dress.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa, said public indecency was an offence.

“That is a crime. If your mole had reported the matter to the police, we would arrest the couple. Any person who indecently exposes himself or herself or engages in any other indecent conduct which cause offence to any other person in or near a public place or in or near a private place within the view of such other person can be arrested,” he said. Some couples in Mutare now regard bushes as “safe haven” for se_x.

CHABASICHANA villagers in Cross Dete are in a dilemma following the mysterious deaths of three workers from a certain shop with two later going crazy which has resulted in some villagers suspecting witchcraft.

The villagers have since lost interest in working at the shop in question. They fear becoming victims too.

The owner of the shops only identified as Ndlovu believes the incidents were mere accidents that have nothing to do with him.

It is reported that of the three workers who died, two were hit by trucks in unrelated circumstances.

The other one died after a tree fell on him outside the shops.

When villagers were still trying to make sense of these three deaths, two other workers reportedly went insane resulting in them concluding there was more to the accidents than what met the eye.

Complicating the issue more is that one of the workers who went insane had witnessed the accident where Collen Msebele died after being hit by a truck.

When a B-Metro crew visited the area, villagers who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed they feared working for Ndlovu following the recent developments.

“It is a tricky issue and now villagers do not want to be employed at Ndlovu’s shops. Three of his workers died under unclear circumstances. Two are mentally unstable. We better stay unemployed than put our lives in danger,” said one villager.

Sihle Msebele (ABOVE) , whose brother Collen Msebele was one of the victims, said their family had a lot of unanswered questions regarding his death.

“There are a lot of unanswered questions. The person who was with him claimed he did not see or hear anything when the accident occurred. There is nothing we can do. According to his death certificate, Collen died due to head injuries sustained in the accident,” said Sihle.

Xolani Gumbo who was in the company of the now deceased and reportedly became mentally unstable three days after the accident, said he wished to die as he had suffered enough.

“I feel something in my stomach and at times I feel as if something is strangling me. I was with Collen when he got hit by a truck, but before the accident, he was acting like a mad person and hallucinating. I tried to control him and failed then the next thing the truck hit him.

“A few days later Ndlovu fired me. He said I should not say things I do not know about. That is the reason I lied that I did not see or hear anything,” said Gumbo also popularly known as Madinda.

Madinda’s mother, Annastacia Gumbo said she did not understand what really happened to her son.

“I was at a funeral when I got the news that Madinda had become mentally unstable. I rushed back only to be told about the accident where his colleague had died and as for him he is not in his senses.

“When I confronted Ndlovu, he just told me he had fired him without paying him a cent despite the fact that he had worked for him for almost four years,” said the visibly troubled woman.

However, Ndlovu confirmed the deaths, but distanced himself from the incidents.

“Accidents do happen and I do not have control over that. There are people who are cooking up stories because of competition. I have good customer care and nothing else,” he said.

One of the village heads confirmed the deaths, but declined to comment on the issue.

“The only thing that I know is that villagers are calling for the closure of the night club as they believe it’s promoting prostitution and theft in the village,” said the village head.

IN a desperate move to change her husband and make him a “yes man”, a Gokwe woman found herself in trouble as it turned out that the alleged love potion was poisonous.

Charles Sibanda (27) is lucky to be alive after his wife Shelter Hove (22) teamed up with her friend Stella Murove (19) to feed him with a love potion which turned out to be a poisonous substance.

Hove thought her love life would automatically blossom after her husband took the ‘love meal’, but she was shattered to see her plot take another direction. It is reported that Sibanda got home at around 8pm from a beer binge when he found his wife in the company of a friend.

The unsuspecting Sibanda, who was drinking beer, left it and proceeded to take a bath. The two who had already hatched a plan, saw a good opportunity of fulfilling their mission and therefore put the substance in the beer.
When Sibanda had finished bathing, he took his beer and after taking two sips felt that it had a funny taste.

He suddenly became dizzy and had severe abdominal pain before vomiting.Sibanda was admitted to Kwekwe General Hospital for two days.Since it was discovered that Sibanda had been poisoned, his wife and Murove were the main suspects leading to their arrest.

They appeared before Gokwe magistrate Shepherd Mjanja facing an attempted murder charge.Hove pleaded not guilty citing that it was not her intention to poison the man, but had asked for a love potion from her friend as she wanted a pliable man who would listen to her all the time.

She confessed that she had indeed obtained the herbs from Murove who had convinced her they would make a successful love cocktail. The magistrate remanded the two women in custody.

A NEW research has revealed that nearly 48 percent of Bulawayo’s teenagers, aged between 15 and 19 years partook in the x-rated wild parties popularly know as vuzu parties in 2015.

According to a study conducted by a local youth organisation, Active Youth Zimbabwe (AYZ), released recently, 17 percent of females aged 15-19 interviewed during the research say they had sex at vuzu parties while drunk which they later regret.

Vuzu is a local term used to describe a party where the drinking of alcohol, casual sex and drug abuse take place.

“The study found out that 47, 2 percent of both males and females aged 15 to 19 years (school going pupils) are reported to be involved in vuzu parties,” said AYZ director Romio Matshazi.

He said condoms and local homemade viagra known as umvusankunzi, alcohol and mbanje are often found at vuzu parties.

“Some of the effects of such parties that we identified are HIV/AIDS, unwanted pregnancies, early child marriages, school drop outs, drug poisoning and death,” said Matshazi.

He said some of the solutions they are proffering to authorities and guardians to end the parties include counselling.

“Parents should talk to their children about the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse as well as HIV/AIDS,” said Matshazi.

He said anti-vuzu, anti-drug, HIV/AIDS and moral values awareness and prevention programs should be implemented across the society.

“There is a need for the establishment of programs, projects and activities in the communities, schools, churches etc. to keep teens occupied all the time.

“Contacting or visiting anti-drug organisations such as ours, Drug Free World-Zimbabwe, National Aids Council of Zimbabwe and Child Line would help in parental teaching of morals and guidance,” said Matshazi.

The study also found out that mbanje (marijuana) is the most frequently used illegal drug in Bulawayo province – especially in the high density suburbs and central Business Centre (CBD).

Alcohol is the second abused drug especially hot spirits followed by broncleer (ngoma) hence cocaine is highly abused in the low density suburbs.

The top five communities most affected by drug abuse are Makokoba, Entumbane, Njube, Egodini and Pumula respectively.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education statistics indicate that in 2014-2015 alone there are 310 students both females and males nabbed for drug abuse.

A 25 YEAR old Epworth man was Wednesday fined $100 for consecutively grabbing a woman’s buttocks while she was in company of her husband.

Brian Chiruka appeared before magistrate Francis Mapfumo being charged with indecent assault.

He did not deny the charges and went on to apologise, claiming he was drunk.

Mapfumo said Chiruka should be jailed for two months if he fails to pay the full fine.
Allegations against Chiruka arose on December 26 when he approached the woman, Marvellous Ndondo at a local shop.

The court heard that he first passed by, grabbing the woman’s buttocks in the process but the woman did not feel offended as she thought he had done that by mistake.

However, Chiruka made his way past the two again and rubbed the woman’s buttocks for the second time.

Prosecutors told the court that Ndondo warned him against that but Chiruka went on to brag that he knew her well and that she was his friend although they had never met before.

After saying this, Chiruka grabbed and caressed the woman’s buttocks again.

The woman’s husband then confronted Chiruka but he went on to assault him.

The court heard that Chiruka was restrained by onlookers.

Ndondo filed a police report with the help of her husband leading to the arrest of Chiruka.

A BULAWAYO woman accused of having a s.exual relationship with her boss by her fiancé had no choice but to return an engagement ring she had been clinging to for some months.

Melody Ncube (above), a saleswoman with an insurance company in Bulawayo allegedly broke her lover’s heart.

“She broke my heart. Everyone is talking about her relationship with Martin Jimu (her boss). She has been unfaithful to me that is why I demanded the ring back,” said Thembinkosi Chingwe, her bitter former fiancĂ©.

Chingwe said he pulled all stops that a man willing to fight for the love of his life would do.

“I confronted Jimu and told him to stop what he was doing because I had intentions to marry her (Melody) that was before I gave her the engagement ring which she accepted,” he added.

What pissed Chingwe off is that Jimu is a married man and his lover was willing to be a small house.

“I couldn’t believe it. Out of anger I called his wife and told her about what was going on. She confronted them and they denied the relationship,” he added.

Ncube refused to talk to B-Metro about the issue but Jimu said Chingwe was being unreasonable.

“What he is doing is not fair. I would rather comment in his presence in the same room,” he said.

Asked if he had been told by Chingwe to back off he said early this year he was approached but explained his position.

“We are workmates nothing more. That is what I told him when he asked if I was sleeping with his fiancĂ©,” Jimu said.

Jimu initially made a commitment to visit B-Metro offices since he did not prefer to give a comment over the phone.
But by time of going to press he was not answering his phone.

A source close to the matter revealed that Mrs Jimu approached Ncube over the matter.

PASTOR Tawanda Muchirahondo, of Kingdom Shakers’ Ministries in Chikanga is at the centre of marriage disintegration after allegedly being caught bathing with a married female congregant.

The clergy and the married congregant, Melody Chizengwe nee Mandiamba’s allegedly secret romantic affair was exposed by the woman’s 14-year-old son.

The Chizengwe couple was blessed with two children and their marriage has since collapsed as a result of Melody’s alleged shenanigans with Pastor Muchirahondo.

This has left a huge dent on Rev Muchirahondo’s involvement in church ministry, a vital institution that holds both morality and the institution of marriage with high esteem.

That Melody’s husband, Stephen, is also an overseer in the same church has created a debate considering that the couple housed Pastor Muchirahondo under their matrimonial roof between January 2014 and July 2015.

At that time the clergy was still single.

“I housed him for more than a year and took him as my own brother and little did I know that he was also bedding my wife behind my back,” said a visibly angry Chizengwe.

Chizengwe’s trust in Pastor Muchirahondo went to the extent of assisting him with his car to do church work.

Chizengwe first got wind of it when his children confided in him that Pastor Muchirahondo was in the habit of visiting his wife each time he was away on business.

“It was my 14-year-old son who finally let the cat out of the bag when he told me that he had caught my wife and Pastor Muchirahondo enjoying themselves, while taking a bath together. I had heard the rumours about the two’s involvement last year, but dismissed it. It never crossed my mind that the Man of God would betray my trust to the extent of bedding my wife,” said Chizengwe.

“The moment I smelt the rat, I informed Pastor Muchirahondo over the issue and he denied it, and instead warned that I should make some wise decisions because it might be the work of the devil to destroy my matrimonial relationship.

“I then asked my wife if she is having an affair with him, but it seems as if I had chased her away from home because from that day she did not return home from work for the weekend. I then approached her parents in Chikanga to inform them that their daughter had strayed, but unfortunately her mother chased me away. I suspected that she knew something about the affair,” added Chizengwe.

Chizengwe could not camouflage the pain he was going through as he even alleged that Melody had the habit of sleeping around with married men.

“This time I will not tolerate her wayward and decadent behaviour. This is not the first time, she once did that before our wedding in 2007. She was seeing a married ZUPCO boss. I forgave her and decided that we move on, but now I have come to realise that a leopard does not change its spots.

Cheating is in her veins; extra marital affairs are part of Melody’s DNA. She keeps on sleeping with Pastor Muchirahondo and on the other hand she gets back to her adolescent sweetheart, one Mr Chinembiri. I am reliably informed that Melody visited her young sister’s place with Pastor Muchirahondo over the weekend. The whole idea was to have quality time as she begged her young sister for lodging with the clergy,” he added.

Pastor Muchirahondo denied the allegations saying he knew nothing about the alleged affair. He said that his comment would come from God.

“I simply do not have a comment on that matter, God will comment for me because I know nothing about that affair,” he said.

Melody also professed ignorance about the affair. She admitted that she once stayed with the churchman at their home sometime last year.

“I do not even know of what he is saying about me. He only wants to tarnish my image and that of the Man of God,” said Melody.

A daring housebreaker from Gokwe, who raped a woman while her husband was asleep next to her on their matrimonial bed, has been sentenced to 16 years in jail.

Adam Maraicha, 28, told a court he had entered the house at night to steal, but was attracted by the semi- n.aked woman on the bed. After raping the woman, he sneaked out of the bedroom and entered the couple’s kitchen where he stole a 10kg bag of mealie-meal before trying to escape into a bush.

Maraicha from Muwani Village under Chief Nemangwe in Gokwe appeared before Kwekwe Regional Magistrate Amos Mbobo facing one count of rape and another of unlawful entry and theft. He pleaded guilty. “I broke into the house to steal but the sight of the woman on the bed was too much for me to pass up,” said Maraicha.

Mbobo, in passing sentence, said Maraicha was grossly disrespectful and highly immoral. “Considering you raped someone’s wife, you deserve to be punished,” he said. “You’re sentenced to two months for unlawful entry and 16 years for rape. 12 months have been suspended on condition of good behaviour. Effectively, you will serve 15 years and two months in prison.” Prosecuting, Mary Chapinda told the court that on September 11 this year at around 1AM, Maraicha broke into the complainant’s house in Mapfumo Village, Chief Nemangwe’s area in Gokwe. Chapinda told the court that Maraicha broke into the complainant’s bedroom in a bid to steal money. He said Maraicha saw the complainant and his wife sleeping on their bed.

“The complainant’s wife felt someone grabbing her back and thought it was her husband. She told him to stop as it was too hot to have s.ex. “The accused continued caressing her before lifting her petticoat and had s.ex with her while her husband was sleeping by her side. “He then sneaked out of the blankets and hid in the kitchen,” said Chapinda.

She said after the act the woman asked her husband for a towel. The husband, the court heard, questioned her why she needed it. “The woman told him that she wanted to use the towel as they had just had s.ex. A heated argument ensued as her husband told her he didn’t have s-exual intercourse with her,” said the prosecutor.

The court heard that the two heard their front door opening and they rushed to investigate. “That’s when they woke up and saw a man running away towards the bush, holding a 10kg bag of mealie- meal,” said Chapinda The man awakened his neighbours who helped him to chase Maraicha. They found him hiding in the bush, the court heard. The neighbours took Maraicha to the police and the bag of mealie-meal was recovered.

A 30-YEAR-OLD man who dumped his wife a few days after raping his 13-year-old niece was Monday sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment by a Harare magistrate.

Lovemore Hunduza of Nyabira abused his niece, sent his wife packing and went on to inform his in-laws that he preferred staying with the juvenile instead.

He will however, spend 8 years behind the bars after magistrate Fadzai Mthombeni suspended 4 years of his sentence on conditions.

Hunduza pleaded for a lighter sentence saying that the incident happened out of ignorance.

He told court that although he committed a crime, his niece liked him so much and would follow him to his bed.

When sentencing, magistrate Mthombeni said she considered that Hunduza was a first offender who “never brushed with the laws” in his 30 years.

She also noted that Hunduza was a bread-winner earning $90 per month and only went up to Grade 7.

Allegations against Hunduza arose on November 8 this year when his wife left him in the company of her brother’s daughter.

Court heard that the teenager prepared food before taking her homework to her uncle for assistance.

When she completed her homework she placed her books on the table. But when she was about to walk out of the room, her uncle grabbed her and made her to lie on his chest.

Hunduza then took the girl to the bed and forced himself on her once.

Prosecutor Ressy Nyamombe told the court that he was disturbed by a voice which called from outside the house while he was raping his niece.

The court heard that he then ordered her to dress up and threatened to bewitch her if she ever told anyone.

That night he deserted his matrimonial bed and never slept with his wife for several days that followed.

Hunduza finally sent his wife to her parents and told her that he preferred staying with the teenager.

This raised suspicions and the girl was quizzed by her grandparents.

She then disclosed that her uncle had raped her once.

“On November 27, at 9PM, Mwembe arrived home and found her husband sleeping. After some minutes the complainant’s phone rang. The man woke up and went outside to answer the call,” said the prosecutor.

This, Nyathi said, did not go down well with the Mwembe who requested to know who had phoned.

Mudimba allegedly refused to tell her.The court heard that Mwembe started slapping her husband and hitting him with a cooking stick and an iron bar all over the body.

“She also bit him on the right side of the abdomen,” the prosecutor said.

Mwembe’s husband, the court heard, escaped and went to make a report to the police.
