The pastors named Deloitte \u0026amp;amp; Touche, KPMG Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe and PWC Pricewaterhouse Coopers as their choice of auditors qualified to carry out the audit.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EUpon completion of the audit, the two pastors want the audit report to be accessible to all church members. In an affidavit, Pastor Mujokeri said Pastor Shumba, as the head of finance, and other leaders had not conducted any audit since 2003 in violation of the church’s constitution. “Contrary to the peremptory provisions, the second respondent’s books of account have not been audited since 2003.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“Further the second respondent has not been annually conducting audits of the books of account of the first respondents’ provincial councils as he is peremptorily enjoined to by clause 11.91 of the church’s regulations. The last such audit was conducted in 2003,” he said.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EPastor Mujokeri said since the books had not been audited for over a decade, there was suspicion that the funds could have been abused. “The second respondent’s (Pastor Shumba) constitutional violation creates in me a reasonable suspicion that the books of account having been immune to scrutiny for over a decade, the church’s finances have for that period been abused and misappropriated,” said Pastor Mujokeri.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EThe pastor said Pastors Madziyire and Madawo had looted from the church to an extent of failing to complete critical church projects.“It (the church) has failed to complete critical infrastructure like the Rufaro National Conference Centre (in Masvingo), which has (been lying) idle since 2003.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“I suspect that the lack of progress is not merely coincidental but also indicative that the church’s finances are being channelled where they ought not to.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“Further, and even critically, the church’s top officials especially third and fourth respondents (Pastors Madziyire and Madawo) have amassed levels of wealth beyond the means of the church’s full-time salaried officers during that period,” said Pastor Mu- jokeri.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EPastor Madziyire, according to Pastor Mujokeri, runs a company called Lamclem Enterprises that is believed to be funded by the AFM Church. The Holy Spirit said to me, ‘You have sinned against me for you have walked after the error of Nigeria and Ghana’.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“I asked what the error was. He then said the error was the founding of churches and ministries, making oneself a president and founder of denominations, paying and collecting tithes and offerings.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“The Holy Spirit told me that all those who have formed churches or ministries, appointing themselves presidents and founders, those who are attending, those who are collecting or paying tithes and offerings in the name of God are destined for the lake of fire.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“These three things blew my mind and the following day, Sunday, I announced that Loving Christ International Ministries has been closed with immediate effect. It was not an easy decision, but it was more valuable to follow Christ than the worldly desires.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“We began to gather about five of us in the name of Jesus Christ according to 2 Thessalonians 2:1 and 1 Corinthians 5:4. A lot of our people decided to join other denominations; they could not stomach the ‘new light’.”\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EHe says their gathering is growing – and no one pays tithes or gives offerings.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“If we want to pay our bills or rent we just collect the money among ourselves and pay. God never said Christian converts are supposed to pay tithe for the upkeep of the church or its leaders and we are just following that,” he says.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EProphet Wonderful also has some choice words for men and women of the cloth who are fond of titles.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“In the encounter with the Holy Spirit I was questioned, who in the scriptures was anointed by God to be a founder of a church or ministry? And who ever collected tithes or offerings in the New Testament of Jesus Christ among His apostles, especially among the Gentile nations of which Zimbabwe is one.”\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EHe continues: “The spirit gave me Ephesians 2:11-16 which plainly differentiates between Israelites (Hebrews) and us the Gentiles.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“In verse 11 the Apostle Paul was teaching the Gentiles and showing them how the Hebrews or Israelites viewed them in time past. The Gentiles were without Christ, meaning it took Jesus Christ for the Gentiles to be accepted of God.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“Hence tithes and offerings were paid by Israelites only, those who happened to be biologically Hebrews bonded with the Levitical priesthood.”\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EHe adds that Malachi, widely used to encourage people to give offerings and tithes, is clear on the matter.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“In verse 9, God says they are cursed with a curse – even this whole nation. Was God cursing Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Afghanistan or Britain? No! It was the Israelites. God did not say He would curse nations but a nation.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“Malachi 1:1 reveals that the nation which was going to be cursed for failing to pay tithes and offerings were the Israelites not spiritual Israel (Gentiles) but the real Israel, the sons of Jacob.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“I couldn’t count the times I have heard self-appointed ministers of the gospel berate their congregations for ‘robbing God’ in tithes and offerings.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“This verse in Malachi certainly means what it says. Someone was defrauding God of tithes and offerings, but wait until you find out who it is that God blames for this act.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“This is the time past referred to in Ephesians 2:11-13 and when all this was happening among the Hebrews who are Israelites, Gentiles were not part of these covenants. They were aliens. Therefore, the collection of tithes and offerings amongst Gentile countries and people is the work of the Devil.”\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003EHe added that in the book of Acts 15 a dispute arose between the Jews and the Gentiles when certain Jews wanted to force the Gentiles to follow the Law of Moses.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“The apostles Peter and James refused that the Gentiles should follow the Law of Moses, but that Gentiles should believe in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“The Lord Jesus Christ Himself never collected tithes and offerings from the people. And Jesus Himself said the New Testament was in His blood which was supposed to be shed – Luke 22:20.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“He is the High Priest of the New Testament. If God freely gave eternal life by the death of Jesus Christ, then why should all other material things of this earth be paid for to these workers of darkness?\u003Cbr \/\u003E“What can be more precious than Jesus Christ, the one true offering which alone was acceptable to God?\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“The book of Luke 8:1-3 states that certain women and many others supported Jesus out of their own means, Jesus never collected tithe or offering from anyone during his ministry.\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E“Even when he sent his disciples to preach he gave them instructions as to where they were going to survive. Luke 10:1-11 in particular shows that the disciples were supposed to receive whatever they would be given freely by the people and not to intimidate them with the name of their master. It was officially handed over amid pomp and fanfare, but claims that it is haunted have overshadowed the gesture.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe house, probably the only well-built house in the entire Chingara Village, has become the talk of the community. Some villagers allege there were some mysterious sounds coming from it at night.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe occupants, however, say they were enjoying peaceful nights. The traditional leader and his family vehemently denied that the house was haunted and that they once deserted it.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EBut some villagers were adamant, telling our source that Kasekete often abandoned his homestead for a farm he recently “grabbed from a white farmer — Rankin”, leaving his wife alone to face the mysterious sounds.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“We just hear that the chief is not always staying in the house. At times, we understand he leaves it because there are certain things that are happening in the house. We don’t have evidence, but we just hear it from those who are close to him,” one villager, who identified himself as Tawanda, said.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe chief, however, poured cold water on the claims.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“That is what people are saying here, but as you can see, I am staying in my house, very peacefully. It is just that people hate this young man (Makandiwa) and want to create stories that there are problems here. It is a lie,” Chief Kasekete said.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAccording to the chief, the house “is a blessing to me, as I sleep well and enjoy dreams”.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“This issue is being propagated by people who hate Makandiwa, particularly churches here who fear losing their members to him. They have been saying this for so long that the Minister for Provincial Affairs, Martin Dinha, came here to investigate and he found that it was a lie,” the traditional leader said.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“Even people from Jomic [an inter-party team created during the inclusive government to spearhead national dialogue] visited me here and investigated the same issue, so it’s something that has been topical here.”\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EUpon arrival at the homestead, the news crew was welcomed by the chief’s children, who said they were staying in the house.\u003Cbr \/\u003EChief Kasekete’s wife later arrived and insisted they were living in the house.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“People are just jealous of what Makandiwa did for the chief. They create stories. We have been staying in that house since it was handed over to us in 2013. At no time have I witnessed anything mysterious, but we hear people saying there are mysterious things happening. Finally, throw in a few “false prophecies”.\u003Cbr \/\u003EAnd it doesn’t hurt if the founder\/face of the church decides to relocate permanently from the country, preferrably some 14 000km away to the United States.\u003Cbr \/\u003EThis formula is working well to end Kingdom Embassy Church, headed by Prophet Passion Java.\u003Cbr \/\u003EProphet Java returned to Zimbabwe last week after conducting – by his count- 254 services in 20 countries in Africa, Asia and North America since January.\u003Cbr \/\u003EWhile he planted churches and claimed miracles all over the world, his local church was in decline.\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe Sunday Mail Religion visited some Kingdom Embassy services in the past two weeks, which were each attended by about 30 congregants under the tutelage of his prodigy, Pastor Israel Matthews.\u003Cbr \/\u003EAnd sources in the church said Pr Matthews – who was overseeing the ministry in Prophet Java’s absence – could take over the ministry full-time as his mentor moots migrating to the United States.\u003Cbr \/\u003EThat is not all.\u003Cbr \/\u003ECongregants were left bemused when Pr Matthews made a number of “prophecies” that they simply said were off the mark.\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe version of prophecies – as has become the norm in modern charismatic movements – had nothing to do with people’s spiritual wellbeing.\u003Cbr \/\u003EThey included a claim at an all-night prayer last week in which Pr Matthews described a library that a congregant named Vongai had in her Chitungwiza home.\u003Cbr \/\u003EVongai, looking uneasy, had to tell the pastor that her house had no library.\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe silence was heavy.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“Uuum but I never missed (a prophecy) and my father never missed,” Pr Matthews said, staring at Prophet Java.\u003Cbr \/\u003EProphet Java had arrived for the service around midnight, and introduced the pastor saying: “The man who is about to come here is my first son, my very own son, you will know that indeed he is my son because of what he will do today.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“I will leave this time for him, he will preach and later on prophesy. After him then kobva kwauya ini chibaba chacho (I will then come, the father of them all) to conclude the night.”\u003Cbr \/\u003ESoon thereafter Pr Matthews tried to convince Vongai that she perhaps she did not have a library, but at least must have somewhere – anywhere – where she stacked books in her house. It was embarrassing. And Pr Matthews went on to deliver a few more “prophecies” that had congregants wondering what was going on and what would become of Kingdom Embassy.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“What he had done (Pr Matthews) was good, the Word was very powerful. He only missed it when he started prophesying – that was embarrassing,” a congregant said after the service.\u003Cbr \/\u003EChurch members are worried.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“The major problem that we are facing is that our prophet is spending much time out of the country thereby leaving us without a shepherd,” said one lady at the all-night vigil.\u003Cbr \/\u003E“Branch rino ranetsa.
